beauty and the beast

this past weekend i was able to sneak away with just the girls and go see beauty and the beast at the roxy theater here in clarksville.  oh my goodness.  how much fun!  the girls felt so grown up and i felt just like a little girl.  it was wonderful.  just a small scale theater, but p.e.r.f.e.c.t.  thanks for the time together little ladies.

we got this

what is so hard about having your husband leave for a year at a time?  besides the obvious, there is the not so obvious.

folding his clothes in the last loads of laundry from when he was here.  instead of getting mad that he didn't turn the shirt right side out before he put it in the laundry, you bury your head in it and cry.

walking behind a man who wears the same cologne as him.  as you walk, you close your eyes and take the deepest breath and try to hold on to the smell.

the worst thing, the hardest thing for me is standing in line somewhere, waiting in traffic and seeing a couple snuggle close, kiss, hold hands, rest their head on his shoulder.  it sucks.

as proud as i am of my husband and what he does, what he represents, what he believes - it doesn't make any of this easier.  i miss you honey.  1 month down 11 to go.  we got this!

sunday funnies

remember getting the sunday paper and diving in to find the funnies?  i do.  one of my favorite things when i was younger.  don't even know if they do them anymore.  this little story is perfect for a sunday funny comic.  come along with me.

when eric arrives home from afghanistan he is getting a harley davidson.  the road king classic. in black (we think).  we have been talking about it for months now.  the kids and all.  here is a picture:

okay.

so driving along in the car, we all point out motorcycles and the kids are all so excited.  kambel however.  keeps saying how daddy is getting a motorcycle just like that one... over and over, each one we pass.  "just like that mommy!"  after awhile, i notice what she is pointing at and saying.  i ask her which one is daddy getting and she c.l.e.a.r.l.y. says "mommyyyy! daddy is getting the motorcycle just like that one! he is getting a motorcycle with a girl on the back!"   didn't know that they came with girls.

12 years, yep, 12

wow.  i am behind.  again!  i have a wonderful husband.  awesome at that.  one i truly don't deserve, that is for sure.  he is my hero.  someone i wish i could be more like.  someone i admire for his strength.  for his integrity.  someone i can't wait to grow old with.  i appreciate what we have been through, what we will go through.  i love you honey.  happy belated 12th wedding anniversary.  we have been together since june 1994.  thanks for standing by my side when you didn't want to.  when you didn't have to.  i love you honey! this is our first year together back in 1998.  no digital cameras for us back then!  ha!  i snapped it from a frame inside.  not perfect but still cuties! come home fast, i love you honey.
