boyhood

one thing about our kiddos is that they always stay busy.  if it is raining outside, they always find something to do together inside.  of course they argue, then compromise, then complain, then laugh, and they always have fun.  on this particular day the girls decided to dress up ty.  ty thought it was funny and was really into it - until i took a picture and showed him.  he quickly took EVERYTHING off and reclaimed his boyhood!

helping the families

every year through our church, we let the kids fill a box for a family in honduras that will feed the family for two weeks.  every year i think it is amazing how just a little amount of food can go so far.  we are very blessed in this country.  while packing the boxes, we explain to the kids that this is the food that they eat, that they don't get to eat pizza or fruit snacks.  it is so hard for them to understand that, but they love helping the families.

picture taking

and they are off!!! time for easter egg hunting, candy eating, birthday singing (happy birthday aunt momma), kite flying, lizard catching and picture taking...

tradition with her

we stayed up one night decorating easter eggs for the easter bunny!  aunt momma was there to help too.  she kept stealing all the eggs from the kids (hehe) to decorate them (not really).  we had fun sharing this tradition with her.

bouncing up and down

then yet another day we all went for some local entertainment at the circus - featuring aunt momma and her three little trapeze artists.  after waiting patiently for their act and weighing in (ha!) they started their show.  kadence had the tumbles down perfectly, aunt momma chickened out and ty and kambel were happy just bouncing up and down!

lived closer

on yet another day (this lady doesn't sit still!!) aunt momma helped me make a 'new' vegetable garden area.  this ground is horrible, so we tried to make it better.  we planted several different vegetables, started tomatoes in huge pots, planted flower pots and made a fabulous herb pot.  it was wonderful. she taught me about planting mint in its own container or it will take over (boy did it!).  she told me about one of her old bosses showing her the proper way to gently water plants - and then when he would walk away she would soak them, hahahahaha. i wish this lady lived closer.
